who we are
Like the neighborhood we call home, Eco Chic is an all-inclusive, vibrant hair and nail salon that combines eco-awareness with the latest in beauty.
Expert aestheticians work with you to curate hairstyles that are original and unique to you and your lifestyle.
We believe that beauty and wellbeing are synonymous, and it’s our goal to deliver hair and nail care services and products that bring out your best, celebrate your individuality and reduce our impact on the environment.
The salon is proud to be Green Circle certified, meaning Eco Chic has been recognized for its efforts to collect, recycle and repurpose salon waste, and divert them from landfills and waterways. Our products are full vegan and represent the cutting-edge of clean beauty – Eco Head appliances reduce water usage by roughly 40% and Oway and O&M products are hair-friendly and ammonia free.
Leeanne, Co Founder & Artistic Director
Leanne is an internationally renowned cosmetologist who started her career in London, England, and brought her experience and passion for hair to the shores of San Diego in 2018.
With two decades of experience under her beauty belt, Leanne is focused on reshaping the way we think about hair, nails and the environment.
Her mission is to protect the natural integrity and beauty of hair while eliminating the use of harsh chemicals and reducing the beauty industry’s impact on our communities.
“I want to bring San Diego and the Hillcrest neighborhood a beauty destination that blends in beautifully and authentically with the fabric of this neighborhood. We source the best and most innovative products and treatments that share our environmental standards and deliver them to our valued clients. From the second you walk in the door of Eco Chic, greeted by a landscape of lush plants that aid air filtration in the studio, through to check out, we want your experience to be healthy and rewarding.”
Kim, Co Founder
For the past decade, Kim has focused on bringing more efficient processes to start ups. She helps small businesses streamline their operations to achieve customer satisfaction and financial results.
Leveraging her cosmetology license from Heritage Institute in Falls Church, Virginia, and her eco-aware approach to life, Kim has opened doors for a number of small beauty businesses, helping them grow their footprint and, in some cases, franchise.
“My driving goal for Eco Chic is rather personal. I know that attention to the sustainability spectrum – from water waste to energy use – is becoming paramount in the beauty industry. If we stay ahead of the eco curve and provide the best options for beautiful, clean hair and nail services, we know our clients will be happy and will keep coming back. Best of all, we will have contributed positively to our community.”
